Welcome to the world behind the words

I’m K.C. Pedersen—writer, dreamer, and occasional animal rescuer.
I write stories that sneak into your heart and refuse to leave. Ever since I won a writing contest at 14, I knew I was hooked—on words, worlds, and wild ideas. When I’m not dreaming up quirky characters or emotional plot twists, I’m busy rescuing animals or decoding the mysteries of the human and animal mind. My debut novel, The Last Lightkeeper (De Laatste Lichtwachter) is the first spark in a magical trilogy. Basically, I live somewhere between reality, fantasy, and a house full of rescued creatures with my family—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

My short film Can You See Me made it to the top 1% of over 205,000 projects on Coverfly, and was recognized as a Top 20 short film, Top 20 drama short, and a finalist in both the Atlanta Film Festival Screenplay Competition 2025 and the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards. It also placed as a quarterfinalist in the Outstanding Screenplays Shorts Competition and the Filmmatic Drama Screenplay Awards.
